Job Opportunities for UNESCO Tehran
UNESCOTehranis aclusteroffice within UNESCO’s decentralized field structure.Education sector is of the primary programmatic function of UNESCO Tehran along with other programmes of Science, Culture and Communication & Information. The Education Unitareas ofpriorities are set to attain quality education for all,lifelong learning ,eradicateliteracy,improve teacher's education, enhance education al planning and policy
as well as improve the awareness of policy makers on quality and inclusive education . UNESCO Tehran
seeks to foster innovative approaches to educational delivery systems in I.R. of Iran and culturally sensitive efficient management of them. Under the direct authority and overal supervision of the Director of Tehran Office, the incumbent is expected to bring a strong background and capability in policy and quantitative planning methodologies , as well as adopting a vision intergrating education activities with those of other programmatic sectors.S/he will performs the following tasks among others:
•
Provide technical support to UNESCO Tehran's projects and programmes related to education sector
particularly with regard to accelerating theachievement of Education for All ( EFA ) goals, geder equality,
inclusive education, TVET. • Ensure timely delivery and reporting of UNESCO Tehran specific outputs, particularly related to Strategic Priority Area 1 (SPA 1) and those in other SPAs pertaining t
o education sector. • Articulate and propose strategies for UNESCO intervention and assistance in the field of emerging and innovative educational themes,
•Prepare and monitor the financial status of
regular budget programmes and extra - budgetary projects and ensure financial accountability. •
Remain well versed about, and contribute to the development of, pertinent strategy papers, technical notes,frameworks and documents related to EFA/MDG and educational development agendas for periods beyound 2015.
