The Donor Relations Associate supports the Donor Focal Points by ensuring that the recording and tracking of
contributions is timely and accurate, while following up regularly to ensure that each contribution adheres to proper
procedure. The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Solution Strategy Officer, but works also in coordination
with the Donor Relations team in PRG Unit of the operation.
Contributions from government donors are promptly and accurately recorded, representing donor intents.
Contributions are tracked with a view to monitoring allocation of funds, monitoring of expenditures of funds,
and to ensure reporting deadlines and requirements ar
e met, in close collaboration with SSAR National
Steering Committee and Secretariat and participating agencies.
Internal and external correspondence is drafted in the appropriate form and in a timely manner.
Meetings with donor representatives and participating agencies are arranged.
Support preparation of standard forms for funding submissions, revision requests and donor reports.
Draft and format components of donor reports, as required.
Set up and update standard tracking forms on contributions, contract mapping, reporting requirements and other
Assist in analysing the donor pledge to accurately reflect donor earmarking (including references to specific
groups of beneficiaries,
cy proposal, etc.) and donor conditions (such as reporting
requirements, funding period, payment, etc).
Verify accuracy and completeness of supporting documents related to a particular contribution.
Liaise, as necessary, with SSAR National Steeri
ng Committee and Secretariat and UNHCR Iran Donor Focal
Prepare/dispatch acknowledgement/thank you letter to the donor.
Assist in drafting correspondence.
Assist in translating all required documents and presentations.
Set up and manage the filing system of all donors covered by the incumbent and update multiple tables.
Assist in organising meetings and consultations with relevant governmental donors.
Provide back-up for other Donor Relations Assistants and on particular issues for Donor Focal Points during
Undertake any other tasks as required by the Service.
Decide the priority of tasks.
Raise Contribution Details (CD) in MSRP.
Draft internal and external correspondence regarding donor contributions.
Follow-up with working level counterparts at Permanent Missions on details of contributions.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Completion of the Secondary Education with post-second
ary certificate/training in Business administration or a
Minimum 5 years of previous job experience relevant to the function.
Knowledge of UN (specifically UNHCR) procedures is necessary.
Excellent knowledge supported by training of MS Word, MS Excel PeopleSoft.
English and Farsi essential.
Experience in English and Farsi drafting and editing is crucial.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Programmatic experience is a plus as well as work experience in international environment.
Experience dealing with Government authorities is an advantage.
Understanding of other computer software is desirable.
Statistical and mathematical competencies or accounting skills desirable.
Relevant UNHCR learning programmes such as Effective writing.
